how to display a survey list in a webpart RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I want to add survey in my portal but I want to show a list to the user containing 5 most recent surveys. From this list the user can choose any one. Can I do it through custom lists or any other way in SharePoint or do I have to develop a webpart for this problem. I can see a list of surveys when I go to All Site Content page and select Survey as the View. I would like to display this particular view in a webpart on the main page of the portal. Will be waiting for any suggestions.

    Thank you all.

  • There are several options.

Do you know how to write a custom web part?

Do you know how to iterate over all lists in a site?

Combine the two and you have 80% of the solution already. All you need now is

    1. identify if a list is a survey or not  - check the "BaseType" property
    2. identify when the survey was created - check the "Created" property
