Webservice issue with App for Word when porting from Preview Edition to RTM Edition RRS feed

  • Hello all,

    We recently upgraded office version from Preview edition to RTM edition and to our utter surprise the word app which was working perfectly fine on Preview Edition has stopped working on RTM Edition. No changes have been to the machine/OS or the code! The app. seems to load fine without errors (unless it is logging it silently somewhere which we are not looking in to)

    Exact problem --> A request for JSON data via a REST based webservice request DOES NOT actually send a request to the server. The request works well when triggered through the same HTML page when loaded within IE on the same machine.

    Any pointers in this area will be appreciated.

  • I seem to have the same problem (described here). When opening the app with a browser (either chrome or ie 9 are both fine) on the same maschine, I get no error and the jsonp "call" returns expected data. 

    Using the app in debug mode gives me an error of "Access Denied". I assume it's a problem regarding SOP (Same Origin Policy), but am very frustrated since this seems to work in the msdn examples: http://msdn.microsoft.com/de-de/library/fp142216.aspx
