questions about nmaes and invisible map RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

is it possible to have the bing map control for Windows store app do the following :

    - display a map with no names on it.

    - hide the map, itself to see only the mapshapelayers with polylines on it (thus keeping the georeferencing of them) for enhanced clarity of reading the info provided by these polylines.

I read the doc thorougly and did not find the answer... (I'm a bit of a noob, I confess)

thanx for your help and happy new year

  • You can turn off the labels for the Aerial and birdseye map styles.

  • Thanks for your answer Richard.

I was able to turn off the label using the javascript version of the SDK. However, not being the only one developping my app, we chose to use C# and I can't figure out how to do that (It seems to me that the javascript version is more Advanced and more documented than the VB,C#,C++ or maybe I ate too much Fois Gras with Champagne during Holydays...)

    Thanx again for your help

  • It is not currently possible to disable just the labels but it is targeted for the next feature release.
