Adding another field to Email editing window RRS feed

  • Hi,

    We need to add another field to Email editing window, called "tags" (see Photoshop image below).
    Is it possible ? How is it done ?

    There is no trivial way to customize the inspector window as shown on the screenshot. Outlook form regions don't allow to place the form on the top of the body. Moreover, I don't know any commercial components that can help in that case.

    Add-in Express provides the Top Subpane layout which allows to place your controls above the standard fields such as To, Cc, Bcc. But not as shown on the screenshot.     The last resort is to use Windows API functions to subclass the Outlook window and insert your controls whenever you need. See Creating Adjacent Windows In Outlook at http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/windowsdesktop/Creating-Adjacent-Windows-00090e4a .
