Error With UMDF Driver deployment RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I tried to deploy a UMDF driver template by following the document and also I followed each and every steps of . But while setting the target device I got the error "ERROR: Task "Configuring kernel debugger settings (possible reboot)" failed to complete successfully". But I could able to add the target device in my host machine for deployment. Both host and target machines are running on windows 10 1903 and also same WDK versions are installed. Also, I ran  WDK Test Target Setup MSI on target machine. When I tried to debug the driver from my host machine after adding my target machine in "Configure Devices" I got the following error.

    Deploying driver files for project "C:\VS\UMDF 2 Driver1\UMDF 2 Driver1\UMDF 2 Driver1.vcxproj".  Deployment may take a few minutes...

  • One reason for failing "Configuring kernel debugger settings" may be missing symbolic links as described in
Error seen when Provisioning a computer for driver deployment and testing when using WDK 1903 and Visual Studio 16.1 +

    With kind regards
