New WAP project, scriptmanager services no longer working? RRS feed

  • New WAP project, scriptmanager services no longer working?

    4 hours, 20 minutes ago

    I am trying to use the ScriptManger in a new WAP and I cannot get the services to reference in javascript. Tells me it doesn't exist. I have used this plenty of times in just regular web sites in VS2010 but not in the project. So I tried making a new project and just adding a single service and tried to access the HelloWorld  from javascript and same thing.

    Just always says webservice1 is undefined. I did un-comment out the ScriptService line in the service. Service is untouched otherwise. ASP.NET 3.5 project.

    Is there something special one must do to use this when using a WAP over a web site?

        <asp:ScriptManager ID="scriptManager" runat="server">

    <Services>

    <asp:ServiceReference Path="~/WebService1.asmx" />

    </Services>

    </asp:ScriptManager>

    WCF is Web Services. They are not two separate things.
    Use WCF for All New Web Service Development, instead of legacy ASMX or obsolete WSE
    Use File->New Project to create Web Service Projects

  • why does the top of this page say ".NET framework development center" then?

    I see absolutely no announcements either...
