C#. How to silently uninstall software components packaged as EXEs? RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have a requirement wherein we need to be able to perform silent installation / uninstallation of software components packaged as EXEs.

We were able to perform silent installation using WMI.

However, we are running into trouble while trying to implement the uninstallation functionality.
The articles that we have seen so far recomment using the "UninstallationString".
Some of the softwares that we install do not have this entry in the registryy.
How can we perform the uninstallation in such scenarios?

  • Hi Madhav Krishnan,

Thank you for posting in MSDN forum.

This forum is about .NET Framework Setup and Servicing, I'm afraid that your issue is not related to .NET. To redirect you to the correct forum, I have some questions below:

    (1) Is this issue related to your C# code? Could you show us your code if it is wrong?

    (2) What is your project type?

  • As Jiayi Li said, if you are asking about how to do it in your C# code, you should ask the C# experts here:

They will want to see the code you've tried.
