Trying to compare 2 columns in excel and put an x in a blank column if there is a match RRS feed

  • I am VERY new to VBA but what I want to do doesn't seem like it should be that hard.  Either way, I am having a real hard to getting started with this.  I have looked around and tried to find code to modify but none realy does what I want it to.

    OK. I need to compare Column A which has 157 rows to Column B which only has 63 rows.  Then I want it to simply place an X or some kind of mark in Column C in the row that column B matches. i.e. if column A has A, B, C, D, E, F and Column B only has A, C, F - I want to script to place an x in the row where A finds a match in B.  This is going to be used on a large scale as a means to track down PC's...
