  • Hi Venu,
          Can you please explain exactly what you're doing here?  I don't know how you are making this problem appear.

    Thanks.

    NOTE: If I ask for code, please provide something that I can drop directly into a project and run (including XAML), or an actual application project. I'm trying to help a lot of people, so I don't have time to figure out weird snippets with undefined objects and unknown namespaces.

  • 1. I've deleted app.xaml from shared project.

    2. As I don't have app.xaml templates for adding into windows 8.1 and windows phone 8.1 projects, I've created 2 more separate projects with same name for both windows 8.1 and windows phone 8.1.

    3. Then I've copied app.xaml from those individual projects into the respected projects of Universal app.

  • I use different photo saving methods for windows 8.1 and windows phone 8.1 in app.xaml. So I thought of using separate app.xaml.

  • your code need to have an entry point which usually looks like this in case of app.xaml.cs

     public App()
            {
                this.InitializeComponent();
                this.Suspending += OnSuspending;
            }

  • I ran into this same issue after trying to split my App.xaml into seperate copies per Win8.1 / WP8.1 in my universal solution. I found a solution at the link below - check the build action on the app.xaml and make sure it is ApplicationDefinition:
