someone posted the same thing after me and they said that that happens when you make any other browser other than IE the default browser. so i made IE the default and i had to search for IE and re-pin in. it worked though :)

When Internet Explorer is set as the default web browser, its tile will launch IE with the Metro style experience. If you have chosen another web browser to be your default, then the Internet Explorer tile will always open IE in the desktop.
You can change your default browser at any time by going to Start and then typing “default programs”.

Hey there,
Are you running the IE tile from the Start screen? Can you click on IE when doing a search? Does that work or it does the same thing?
Thanks,
Bobby

Hey there,
Not sure what happened, the Metro styled touch optimized IE should launch. Can you try to run the Refresh the PC from the general control panel properties to see if that fixes the issue, in case there was an issue with the installation.
Thanks,
Bobby
