Use of "data-win-" makes it look like an HTML/JS version of XAML or ASPX


  • The way the HTML/JavaScript development stack uses the "data-win-" attributes on HTML elements to initialize UI controls (along with the related data binding and other functionalities) make the HTML markup look very similar to XAML or ASPX markup.

    I assume the reason for this is because you are actually displaying native ui controls, instead of pure HTML/JavaScript controls. Is this correct?

    Also, what are some of the reasons for this design, and why you didn't stick to "standard" web patterns in the style of jQuery and jQuery UI?
