Fetch Data and Publish in Excel RRS feed

  • Hi,

    We have a requirement to pull data from MS SQL Azure and publish all the tables in an Excel sheet in the Dropdown format. Once we select any table from the dropdown the records from the DB should be populated in a new sheet in Excel. This data will be used for further analysis by the business. 

    Please shine some light on any feasible approach to achieve this where the data is well formatted in the excel.

    We thought of using VBA to fetch the data, but it increases the overhead and we wont be able to write dynamic macros.

    One more point of concern is, we have some millions of records in our DB tables. Please advice us whether excel will be able to handle that eve after using multiple filters.
