Does Metro App support "Bluetooth:SDP" when use PeerFinder.FindAllPeersAsync()? RRS feed

  • Question

  • In WP8 App, we can add "Bluetooth:Paired" or "Bluetooth:SDP" to PeerFinder.AlternateIdentities, then use PeerFinder.FindAllPeersAsync() to find bluetooth-paired device or bluetooth-BSD device. Reference here: Bluetooth for Windows Phone 8

In Metro App the Proximity API is same as WP8 App, does it support the same way to find other bluetooth device?

  • Hello,

On Windows 8, the FindAllpeersAsync function uses Wi-Fi direct to perform the peer discovery, it does not use Bluetooth.

    Thanks,

    Prashant.

Is that to say, FindAllpeersAsync function supports Wi-fi direct but does not support bluetooth on Windows 8, on the other hand, it supports bluetooth but does not support Wi-fi direct on Windows phone 8?
