Infopath 2010 and Sharepoint 2010: Publishing an IP form to sharepoint RRS feed

  • Question

  • When I publish an infopath 2010 form to a sharepoint library using infopath filler type it is published with the following URL.

    .com/sites/CDO-DCC/DGM/New DEP Switching/

It shows up as a link to in the quick launch menu with this URL.

    .com/sites/CDO-DCC/DGM/New%20DEP%20Switching/Forms/AllItems.aspx

I am trying to do the following.  I would like to be able to link to this library in the quick launch menu from a new heading.  I want the link to be the following.

    .com/sites/CDO-DCC/DGM/Switching/Forms/DEP Switching/

Then all of my submitted IP forms will be sent to this location as well.

Can you explain the steps needed to do this?

  • Hi CJD,

I understand that you pulish an "InfoPath filler form template" to a library "New DEP Switching", then you want to new the form from this form library via client InfoPath application and then save it to "Switching" form library (or may "DEP Switching" library) automatically.

The InfoPath filler template is published to "New DEP Switching" library, SharePoint will save the newly created form based on this template to library"New DEP Switching" by design, we are unabled to save it to another library (e.g. Switching library) by click "save icon" from client InfoPath application.

As workarounds, we can save the new forms in "New DEP Switching" library, then copy/move the form to "Switching library" using Event Receiver (e.g. ItemAdded() on library "New DEP Switching"), or Retention Policy with Document Organizer.

    Thanks
