Do the 'IE Activity' indicators work differently in Metro and Desktop IE? RRS feed

  • Question

  • When loading a large thread on this forum it seems that as soon as Desktop IE has finished spinning the activity indicator in the tab that I can swipe to scroll the page but in Metro IE there is a lengthy delay between the activity 'dots' at the bottom disappearing and the page responding to swipes.

Also, I'm not keen on these activity 'dots' disappearing off the right edge and not starting their next transversal for 0.5 a second or so, this pause in activity feedback makes me want to stare for a second or so just to verify that activity has ceased. My suggestion would be to have dots visible the whole time IE is 'doing' something.

  • Hey PostPCera,

The load times when comparing the desktop Internet Explorer and the Metro Internet Explorer when loading a larger thread (example) are similar in length from my testing. There is a difference in perception since you can always see the spinning circle in the desktop Internet Explorer, but there is a moment when there aren't any dots displayed in the Metro Internet Explorer.
