How do I stop Visual Studio Report Services from changing my SQL Statements RRS feed

  • Question

  • When I enter a SQL statemnent in Visual Studio, it automatically changes the formatting of the statements. It also changes the SQLs such that they no longer execute.

  • I have the same problem, is this the wrong forum?  No one has answered in over two years.

I'm back with an answer?  I am using Visual Studio 2010, I loaded ODTwithODAC1120320_32bit from Oracle.

If you right-click in most places in the database connection in the Server Explorer, the menu item "New Query" gives you the Microsoft Query Designer.  I right-clicked on the Synonyms folder under my Oracle connection and got the "Query Window" menu item.  This window's formatting looks and seems to behave a bit like the Oracle SQL Developer and did not alter the query so that it would not work.

I also see that the "Query Window" menu item is on the "Data" pull-down menu.
