Office App Rejection by Microsoft after months of development RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have invested over $100,000 in designing and building our Outlook App for Office, and we were recently rejected by the Office store when we tried to submit it. The rejection letter states that some hyperlinks in our Outlook app don't work in Mozilla Firefox, and Office apps need to work in all browsers. Unfortunately this is a Microsoft bug that affects all Outlook Apps on Firefox and is not something we can fix, and we've even notified MS of the issue weeks ago.

As evidence, your own Bing Maps Outlook app also does not respond when a user clicks on "View Larger Map" or "Get Directions" in Firefox.

Almost all other apps in the store exhibit the same behaviors, including the most popular Outlook app in the store, The LinkedIn app, which actually states you need Internet Explorer for it to run in it's requirements description.

Having spent months designing and developing this app for Outlook, we're frustrated that it's being rejected for reasons beyond our control, and have no way to contact Microsoft on this issue so we're posting here.
