Sharing V3 Drivers from a V4 Printer RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I'm wondering if there is any way to share a V3 driver from a V4 printer.  Scenario:  I'm using a Windows 8 x64bit machine to share a Brother PS Class Driver Printer.  I have a Windows 7 x86 Pro machine that I need to share the printer with.  I would like to add a driver for that to the "Additional Drivers" location under Printer Properties, but it is greyed out.

Is this something that you can't do with V4 Printers? Or Is there some documentation that I'm missing?

And for the record, I have had the internet equivalent of being transferred twice already.

    Once here:

So, if you work for MS please make sure you refer me to the right place before you slap another link for me to follow in a reply.

    Thanks

  • I think the first link was the correct one for your question, I'm sorry they were not very helpful-- this is the forum is specifically for the Windows Hardware Certification program (certifying hardware devices).
