VS2015 Error after update .vbproj not recognised

    Question

  • I have been using VS2015 Community for approx 3mths.  Apart from being slower when debugging and loading compared to VS2010 it worked fine.

I updated the application.  After updating I could not load my projects.  In solutions explorer it states the project is incompatible - The application is not installed.

When I look at Help -> About Microsoft Visual Studio , it says the Visual Basic is installed.

If I create a new project using VB the follow error:

C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Temp\3qlms2fl.lry\temp\WindowsApplication1.vbproj cannot be opened because its project type(.vbprof) is not supported by this version of the application.

to open it, please use a version that supports this type of project.

I am using windows 10. I have reinstalled about 6 times and repaired about 6 times as well but nothing seems to be fixing the problem.

It appears I may have to revert back to 2010 version if this cant be fixed

If anyone could help it would be appreciated.

    Thx
