Question about customizing the ribbon with VSTO ribbon designer? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I understand how to use the ribbon designer to add a tab and put my add-in icon there. But what if I want to add it to an existing tab, like "Home". How do I apply that kind of customization?

  • Hi Rex

    1. Rightclick in the Designer and choose "Add Ribbon Tab"

    2. Go to the Properties window and click on the + next to the entry "ControlID"

    3. For the Control Type, select "Office"

    4. For the OfficeID, enter the idMso for the built-in tab

    5. Add a group to the tab and put your controls in it (it's not possible to modify a built-in group)
