  • Hi

I have a linux VM using Legacy Nic, and a Windows Server using MS Syth Nic on the same Physical Server.

When a email leaves the Linux it times out connecting to the mail server that is hosted on the same Physical server.  and likewise from windows to linux.

    A traceroute:

    Microsoft Windows [Version 5.2.3790]
    (C) Copyright 1985-2003 Microsoft Corp.

    C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>tracert manclinux2.networkdns.biz

    Tracing route to manclinux2.networkdns.biz [92.63.132.129]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

      1     1 ms    <1 ms    <1 ms  77-240-10-190.melbourne.co.uk [77.240.10.190]
      2     8 ms   499 ms     5 ms  92-63-132-129.melbourne.co.uk [92.63.132.129]

    Trace complete.

    C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>

However I have another physical server (also running Hyper-V) and that can accept emails from this linux server,so i think some how it has something to do with the internal networking.

The servers are Dell 1950's running the very latest NIC Drivers. (i updated the NIC Card drivers to see if it would fix the problem but it did not). All offloading is disabled too.

    Help!
