  • Yes, to some degree.

    IE's start of supporting HTML 5 dates all the way back to IE 8. See http://blogs.msdn.com/b/giorgio/archive/2009/11/29/ie8-and-html-5.aspx/

    But since HTML 5 was finalized a year after IE 11's release, there is no full support of the current standard. IE's platform status page is gone now, check https://dev.windows.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/platform/status/ for support status of Microsoft Edge. If what you want isn't in Microsoft Edge then you can assume it isn't in IE either.
