  • Question

  • when a SL app is complete o the development stage and you are ready to deploy it with WCF what do you do? I have simply uploaded using FTP the whole app folder.

Do i need to publish it and if so what do I upload to the host and what do I put in bin/ folder?

  • It is best and easier to use the Publish feature of VS to first publish to the File System (a folder). This folder should contains all the files you need. Then test it on your local IIS by adding a new Application under IIS to point to this folder. If everything works, you can deploy the app by uploading this folder to your remote host. You shouldn't have to manually move any file.
