Where does Micosoft release security patches for Windows Embedded 8.1 Industry Pro RRS feed

  • Question

  • How do I find out which security patches have been released for Windows Embedded 8.1 Industry Pro?

Can WSUS on Windows Server 2012 be used to apply the patches?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

  • Usually, just run Windows Update directly on the devices or use WSUS as you mentioned. Feature updates can be found on the MyOEM website. To get access to the MyOEM website, you need to contact your distributor.

  • As Sean Liming says, use WSUS.

In fact, that is what I do. WSUS on 2012 no less.

As of last week, that is 250 updates, 900+ MB and 2 hours for the first run, and 5 and 100 for the second. Remember to use DISM to clean up winsxs or you have some 4GB of garbage.

Note, you should probably set your WSUS to not automatically approve updates and not include drivers.

  • Regarding the tip from "P 'Bunny' E" about performing a clean up: AFAIK you will not be able to unsintall one or more updates once the clean-up has been performed - see this article.
