Right now i am hosting .net web application on IIS server. I am planning to host azure server.

which is best to setup?

If you choose Azure VM, well, that's simply an IIS server in the cloud. If you choose Web Apps, then that's PaaS which gives a set of common advantages of all PaaS apps.

Hosting web sites on IIS on company server, we need to buy server and configure&manage server by ourselves, which will spend a lot of time and resources. Hosting web sites on Azure, we only need to pay for what we use, and it has high scalability and availability.
