Accessing a Virtual Directory via a deployed web service. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is there anything special that needs to be done to access a virtual directory from a deployed web service?   The virtual directories name is "NewVirtDirectory".   I have granted all the appropriate permissions in IIS but it does not seem to resolve what the virtual directory is in code.   Is there something special in code that I need to do to make this happen?  Since I don't know how to attach to the debugger I can't seem to figure out what is acutally going on because it works just fine when running in the ASP Developer Server.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Mike,

As for the "Access a Virtual Directory via a deployed webservice", would you elaborate it more or provide some code snippet about what you're currently doing?

My understanding is that you need to use code to access an IIS virtual directory through its http:// url . If so, in .NET framework, the WebRequest component can help generate standard HTTP get/post requests to a ceratin remote service/document:
