  • Question

  • Hi, i found error on msdn in this article https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/87z0hy49(v=vs.110).aspx

    In that example line

    writer.Write(outByte, 0, (int)retval - 1);

    should be replaced with

    writer.Write(outByte, 0, (int)retval);

    I didn't know where to report errors in msdn, so I ll leave it here)

  • Microsoft Connect might be the best place to report documentation problems:

    https://connect.microsoft.com/visualstudio/feedback

    The link is for Visual Studio and .NET Framework.

  • Hi tibnew,

    You can submit your feedback at here.

    By the way, are you sure you are right?

    Please also note  that, startIndex = 0;

  • Yes, because third parameter of the Write method is number of elements to write.

    I didn't notice it at first, because I was downloading pdf and xls files.

    Maybe they don't require to be 100% correct to open.

    This bug revealed when I worked with archives.

    BTW it is sad that there is no easy way to report error on msdn page.

  • I think tibnew is correct that "- 1" shouldn't be there. The resulting file would be one byte less than what should have been.

    Just file the documentation issue to MS Connect as told by Richard.
