.Net 4.7 repair options RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

what is the most convenient and correct way of repairing .Net 4.7 installation? Something like we have in .net 4.6. The .Net repair tool supports repair till 4.6 and does not support 4.7.

Can you help us with this issue?

    Thanks,

  • Hi,

    Thank you for your update.

/quiet Optional: Do not display any user interface while performing the installation.
/passive Optional: Display the user interface, but do not request any interaction from the user.
/norestart Optional: If present, commands with /passive or /quiet will not automatically restart the machine (if required). This is ignored if neither /passive nor /quiet are specified.

You can use the command to repair .net framework 4.7 in silent mode.

    Best regards,

    Joyce

  • Hi K K Biswas,

    Welcome to MSDN forum.

You can repair .net framework 4.7 via control panel, right click on it and select repair. Besides, .NET Framework setup verification tool is designed to automatically perform a set of steps to verify the installation state of one or more versions of the .NET Framework on a computer.  It will verify the presence of files, directories, registry keys and values for the .NET Framework.  It will also verify that simple applications that use the .NET Framework can be run correctly. It can also detect .net framework 4.7, if the verification tool finds any issues, you can still use .NET Framework Repair Tool to repair .net framework 4.7.

    Best regards,

    Joyce

  • Thanks a lot Joyce for the prompt reply!

The .net 4.7 repair tool does not support the repair of 4.7. Its mentioned in the system requirements page.

I want to do a .net 4.7 repair in the silent mode. Please suggest if there is a silent way to doing it.

  • What if you are trying to repair .net 4.7 in Windows 10 version 1703?  The above referenced file location does not seem to exist.
