Sending Email Notifications for any changed/updated or New Members RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

I am using entity based staging in SQL Server 2014 to populate a few entities in MDS. My question is how do I get MDS to send email notifications every time new members are added or existing members are updated for an entity. I've looked at the business rule features but that seems to only send an email when a member fails validation. My intention is to notify the end users with a message saying 'x' number of new records added and 'y' number of records got updated in the last run .

    Is this at all possible?

    Thanks

  • Hi Decent,

According to your description, you need to email with the message saying 'x' number of new records added and 'y' number of records got updated in the last run, right?

As you can see on the Notifications (Master Data Services) document, you can send the notification when Data fails business rule validation, Data fails business rule validation and Change set status changes. We can only get the notification that the status changed, and it seem that cannot to get the notifications that how many members changed.

If you have any concern about this behavior, you can submit a feedback at http://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/Feedback and hope it is resolved in the next release of service pack or product. Your feedback enables Microsoft to make software and services the best that they can be, Microsoft might consider to add this feature in the following release after official confirmation.
