WCF Performance Counters disappearing RRS feed

  • hi, i'm trying to do some perf testing for a WCF service. naturally i'm using the performance counters from ServiceModel.Service and ServiceModel.Operation.

    now if i restart IIS or the default website, my performance counters stop working. then if i restart perfmon, my instances are no longer there, and nothing i do seems to be able to bring them back. i can use the service as normal but my instances are not in the list.

    so typically i'd have:

    wcf_admin
    myservice
    <AllInstances>

    in ServiceModel.Service,

    now i just have wcf_admin.

    similarly in ModelOperation - everything relating to my service has all disappeared.

    any ideas what the problem is or what i can do to bring them back, restarting the machine seems to be the way, but that's not practical. i'm sure it's easily resolved, but i can't see what to do.

    any suggestions would be most welcome.
