Search for a duplicate row RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have an Excel file with three tabs (Sheet 1, 2 and 3), and I want to excel to check in Sheet 1 if columns I2 & J2 & K2 have a duplicate line with a different column D. Something like carsalerick had another line as carsalerick one with A on column D and another with a B on the column D. If the search is the true return OK if not return something like "just A" or "just B". I don’t know how to do it. Any help will be extreme appreciated.

  • Hi FSalgueiro,

Could you share us how do you want to achieve that? If you want to achieve it with Excel Formula, I will recommend you go to the link below for help.

If you want to achieve it with vba, I think you could loop the columns and if statement to achieve your requirement. For looping trough a range of cells, you could refer the link below:

    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/aa221353%28v=office.11%29.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396

For setting the value of the range, you could refer the link below:

  • Hi FSalgueiro,

As my reply above, you could loop through the range of cells, for the value of the range, you could use Range.Value. Could you share us what your issue is? Have you got any error when looping through the range of cells?

    Thanks for your understanding.

    Best Regards,

    Edward
