How to determine if Word document has been modified RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a Visual Basic 2008 application in which I am automating Microsoft Word.  Is there a property which indicates the user has made any changes to the document, i.e., since it was opened from an existing file, or as new?  I tried to user the Revisions.Count property, but it does not appear to reflect insertion of Comments and Bookmarks, which I would like to capture.

  • Use the Saved property of the Document object. It is False if the document has been modified since the last time it was saved, True otherwise.

  • Hans,

Thanks for the tip.  That should work.
