  • Hi mjmeans,

Looks like folks are discussing this on the GHI forums at https://www.ghielectronics.com/community/forum/topic?id=24148&page=1 but we have not tried this at Microsoft to my knowledge.

As with any hardware, Microsoft recommends reaching out to the OEM regarding their support of Windows.

    Sincerely,

Is Windows 10 IoT Core not compatible with the compute module 3?

  • Hi CO73,

To my knowledge there are no planned updates to the RPi. The OEM could decide to update based on the changes they made to the hardware but it would require OEM involvement to know what those changes were.  However, BSP is available to anyone on GITHUB should someone wish to adapt the existing BSP to the hardware changes on the different boards.

    See https://github.com/ms-iot/bsp

  • Thank you for the answer.
In fact I am then just a little surprised by the features announced at the launch of the product:

  • @CO73 as you can see by yourself there is a gap between Marketing and Reality "is able to run Windows 10 IoT Core" is not the same as "supports Windows 10 IoT Core"

"is able to run" is true from the Hardware Requirements perspective

but you have good chances if you get in contact with the OEM to ask about updated BSP as this is the only needed change to have it supported
