.NET version 4 and 4.0 are the same.

4.5 is an in-place upgrade of 4.0.  As such, the version number will appear the same if you install .NET 4.5.  That being said, Visual Studio 2010 only is setup to use and target .NET 4.0, so if you're writing an application using Visual Studio 2010, you'll need to target .NET 4 (or earlier).
