Cancelled Sroty work item not disappearing from Sprint backlog RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

    We have customized Story work item states and created "Cancelled" state if any story will be dropped from scope then it can be used.

    The problem is when we are changing story workitem to "Cancelled" state it is not disappearing from sprint backlog.

    (We have made changes as "complete=cancelled" in processconfiguration file )

    Any help would be really appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Raj

  • Hi Raj,

    Thank you for posting here.

    So you want that when your user stories changes to "Cancelled", it will disappear from the Sprint backlog. If so, you shouldn't add "complete=cancelled" in processconfig file. You should remove this line and in your processconfig file, only keeps those states you want them to be seen at backlog.

    So your processconfig file should be:

    ......
    <RequirementBacklog category="Microsoft.RequirementCategory" parent="Microsoft.FeatureCategory" pluralName="Stories" singularName="User Story" workItemCountLimit="1000">
        <AddPanel>
          <Fields>
            <Field refname="System.Title" />
          </Fields>
        </AddPanel>
        <Columns>
          .......
        </Columns>
        <States>
          <State type="Proposed" value="New" />
          <State type="InProgress" value="Active" />
          <State type="InProgress" value="Resolved" />
          <State type="Complete" value="Closed" />
        </States>
      </RequirementBacklog>
    ......

    Best regards

  • Hi!

    If you want to delete a story from iteration backlog you have to change the iteration path for user story and child tasks to root path or another iteration.
