[V4 Printer Driver] Printer in Client-Side Rendering configuration but still prints using Server-Side Rendering? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I'm testing the behavior of my V4 Printer Driver for Client-Side-Rendering Point and Print but I can't get it to work.

I confirmed that my client printer is not using the "Microsoft enhanced Point and Print Driver", and "Render print jobs on client computers" is already checked.

But when I try to print, it still prints on the server side.

    What could be causing this?

    Thank you.

  • Hi John,

Windows has some optimizations in place that force server side rendering when the client is connected to battery, since rendering can be a very battery intensive task. I expect this is the behavior you are seeing.

    Thanks!

  • Hello Justin,

I'm currently testing this on a desktop computer.

The server is a desktop PC running 64-bit Windows Server 2012

and the client is another desktop PC running 64-bit Windows 8.

    Thanks!
