255 Character Limit on SharePoint Designer created workflow? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a workflow which creates a Calendar Event based off of submitted Infopath Forms. It seems items longer than 255 characters get reduced to 255 characters.  I can go into the field in the created calendar item and add the text back in, but would have to do this manually. Is there a setting I could change to raise that character limit?

what you are actually doing is amending the number of characters in a (SharePoint List's) Multi-line field.

  • OK, This definately puts me on the right track, but I need a bit more guidance :)

The document library was created off of an infopath form. When I go into the library's settings, I am unable to change the properties of those columns - they are all "Single line of text". Is there a way to manipulate those columns that I am missing? If I have to do it through STSADM or something to that effect, do you have a resource from which I could start?
