Hi there,
Can any C# programmer here recommend me a C# book (2005) for a beginner to language? I previously coded VB.NET.
Also a good ASP.NET 2 book with c# syntax?
Thanks

Thanks, I've prior knowledge of other languages in the past.
I bought the Wrox 2.0/C# box set of books, C# 2005 - so far - is a great read.

Beginning ASP.NET 2.0 with C# (Wrox Beginning Guides)
Wrox's Visual C# 2005 Express Edition Starter Kit
No i don't work for wrox before you ask [:D], there all good books though and if you have VB.net knowledge its mainly only the syntax your need to adjust too (i'll get flamed for saying that i'm sure [;)] )

Are the C# WROX books suitable for MCPD exams? I'm tempted to buy the Microsoft Press books as I've done with previous editions (framework 1.1), but if these books are more suitable and written better, than I would opt for them.

They both cover pretty much the same areas, though i find a copy of an MS exam study books (the new MCTS books are pretty good) along side will help you make sure you know the areas to cover and the Wrox books may well go that little more indepth to help, its how i've learnt and studied in the past any way [:)]Monday, December 18, 2006 11:49 AM -

This was the easiest book I have ever read for learning a new programming language. This book is great and may also be available in your local library.
