  • Hi,

We need vslogs.cab in your %temp% folder for troubleshooting.

Temp folder contain in AppData folder. The AppData folder is marked as hidden. Supposing you can't see that folder, you'll need to do this. Press F10 for a menu in Windows Explorer and choose Tools | Folder Options. Click the View tab. Choose the option "Show hidden files and folders" ("Show hidden files, folders and drives" in Windows 7) and click OK. Now you can navigate all the way to the Temp folder. Or type the path in windows explorer:"C:\users\username\AppData\Local\Temp", where username is your user account name.

Please share the file to OneDrive.

And may be there have some problems in your installation package. I recommend first clean up failed install(s) using this tool:

    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2008/08/28/8904493.aspx

    Then try the standalone installer:

    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=0a391abd-25c1-4fc0-919f-b21f31ab88b7&displaylang=en

Please remember run the installer as admin and disable any Antivirus software

    Best Wishes!

I will be happy to try to help.

To offer you useful suggestions, we need more information.

First, what is your Windows version?

Next, will you please share your complete install log set as follows:

Please collect your install logs with this:

    http://aka.ms/vscollect

After you run Collect.exe, you'll find vslogs.cab in your %temp% directory. Please upload vslogs.cab to a public site, like OneDrive, and post the link here.

  • You'll need to set your File Explorer to see hidden and system items. Then, if Collect.exe succeeded, you'll find vslogs.cab.
