Tracking Gantt view missing in Project Pro 2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear all,

I've been reading many tutorials and discussion, maybe you can help me out.

I have Project Pro 2010 and created a test project and added variance table and baselined whole project.

When I go to Gantt view I get 25 optional views, but not the Tracking Gantt view.

This while Miscrosoft claims to have 27 view including Tracking Gantt.

Also within "more views" there is no "Tracking Gantt" to choose.

Is this is technical problem or do I miss something?

    Thank you very much,

  • Robert,

It sounds like your Global file is either corrupt or the Tracking Gantt view was inadvertently deleted.

    Try this.

1.Find your working Global file, (mine is in c:/users/[your PC name]/App data/roaming/Microsoft/MS Project/14/1033), and move it to the trash. Then open Project. Project will automatically create a new default Global. Is the Tracking Gantt there? I suspect it will be.

    2. Use the Organizer to move the Tracking Gantt view and its associated view table to the active project file.

    3. Save that file.

    4. Open the trash and pull your old Global to the desktop.

    5. Close Project and trash the default Global file.

    6. Now move the Global file on your desktop to the location where the working Global should reside.

    7. Open Project and open the saved file.

    8. Use the Organizer to transfer the Tracking Gantt view and associated view table to your working Global.

    Hope this helps.
