Silverlight OOB Birdseye mode does not work RRS feed

  • Question

  • Silverlight application running Out Of Browser, with the BingMaps.MapControl.ExtendedModes calling

    myMap.Mode = new BirdseyeMode();

    gives me exactly the same view as Aerial, is this expected behaviour ?

    If I debug from VS2010 then I get the whole application going blank the moment the mode changes is hit, with no errors.

  • The Birdseye Mode is still only CTP and is not as smooth as per the consumer site. It also only supports the locations with the full birdseye experience not the more recent rerender globally of the aerial imagery as birdseye

    In short it does work but only at zoomlevels and locations that support the full Birdseye.
