EDIFACT message that contains a "+" character in the data element is suspended in BizTalk 2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've recently started working with BizTalk for the first time and am using 2010. We are importing a file with a schema of EDIFACT DESADV D96A, which works as I would expect except one messages is being suspended with the following error:

    Error: 1 (Field level error)
    	SegmentID: IMD
    	Position in TS: 64
    	Data Element ID: C27304
    	Position in Segment: 4
    	Position in Field: 4
    	Data Value: P3+ TEST
    	21: Invalid character found

The data value in the actual file is 'P3?+ TEST', which I believe should be valid as we are using ? as the defined release character. The issue looks just like this bug from BizTalk 2006, which has since been resolved:

Could it be that this is an issue in BizTalk 2010 or is there something else I need to configure?

  • Hi,

This is fixed as part of KB article in BizTalk Server 2006 R2. But this fix was not in when BizTalk Server 2010 was released. Please open a Ticket to MS for fixing this issue in BizTalk Server 2010.
