    Dim mail As New MailMessage()

    Dim smtp As New SmtpClient("my server", 587)

    smtp.Credentials = New NetworkCredential("myaccount", "mypassword")

    'set the addresses

    mail.From = New MailAddress("myemailaddress", "Chris")'

    mail.To.Add(New MailAddress("myemailaddress", "Chris"))

    mail.CC.Add(New MailAddress("myemailaddress", "Chris"))

    mail.Bcc.Add(New MailAddress("myemailaddress", "Chris"))

  • If you have your own address in To, CC and Bcc then the receiving Mail Server will realise that these are three identical mails being sent to you and will remove duplicates and send you just one email.

    If you try this with different email addresses in To, CC and BCC this will work correctly.

  • Many Thanks for your reply. I have an email address on another domain and have just used that for the cc

    address and it still doesnt work. However, this 2nd domain gets forwarded to my main email address, so perhaps the ISP is being

    just to clever! - i wish they didnt do this - guess where my next email is going to ! ............

    Thanks again
