What is the correct way to move MapIcons (with Fall Creator Update) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

What is the correct way to move MapIcons?

I believe we are not doing it correctly because the set of 5 or so MapIcons seem to flicker on re-write (.Add and .Remove).

We are making the MapIcons on-the-fly programmatically on a separate MapLayer.

Or, is there a way to make it move in one call?  We tried MapControl.SetLocation but this didn't work and we understand this is only for XAML specified controls.

    Any advice?

    Br, Karhu.

  • If you just want it to move, you can update the .Location property of the MapIcon after you've added it and the new position will be reflected on the map. Removing it and re-adding it will definitely result in flashing.

  • Thanks for pointing that out -- we thought you could change it that way, but it works and no flickering!

    Br, Karhu.

p.s. can you please take a look at our previous post (memory issue) - no one has commented on it yet.
