  • Quick question and hoping quick answers.  Besides CPU vs GPU usage, are there any advantages to creating a WPF application over a WinForm application?

    Welcome to the MSDN forum.

    As far as l know, the WPF is Microsoft's latest approach to a GUI framework, used with the .NET framework while WinForm is a set of managed libraries in .NET Framework designed to designed to develop rich client applications.

    l have summed up some advantages of WPF:

        

           1. The ability to make very rich UIs relatively easily.
           2. Easier animation and special effects
           3. Inherent scalability 
           4. Powerfull styling and skinning structure  
           5. Easy to create an own Look and Feel
           6. Does support Windows Forms
           7. The future technology for developing Vista Applications
           8. The ability to reuse existing code
           9. Highly advanced databinding possible
         10. Declarative vs procedural code
