Rebooting RDS Server with logged-on users RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

As a best practice, we reboot all our RDS servers overnight. Often we see users still logged on to these systems, mostly disconnected sessions but some sessions remain active (there is no user working, but sometimes they just switch of the screen and go home).

Does FSLogix Profile and/or Office365 containers have any issues with these reboots?

  • Hello,

As long as the users are logged out gracefully/complete the sign out process and do not have their session just killed there will be no issues.

  • What if they do get killed? I think that's what he's asking, I'm curious myself.

  • I am running FSL Profile Containers without Cloud Cache at the moment.

For my Citrix XenApp users who are disconnected prior to my nightly restart, I have found no issues with the user profile as I understand the commit is immediate back to the VHD file.
