Selecting Values for Table Columns RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi everyone,

This is my first post here, so I am not sure if I am at the right place.

What I am trying to do is this. I exported an excel sheet to SQL tables. However the there are multiple values in one excel cell, sperated by a hard enter. I need to select the first value for the SQL columns and then remive the duplicates if any.

    Does it makes sense.

    My column looks like this.

So lets say, I need to select 0hh0640t followed by 50049029 and so on

  • If you know C# then it would be quite easy, if you don't know C# then it will clearly need some learning.  Either way you will probably need to use a C# forum for help rather than this forum.

If this is what you want I can move this post to a C# forum for you.

Perhaps checkout here and here to see if this seems the way you want to go.

  • This is the Small Basic programming forum, are you using SmallBasic or perhaps VB, C#, or just excel and SQL.  You could write a short program to separate the space deliminated values perhaps.
