NDISTests. Problem with topology [2 machine] to USB (EEM device) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, I have got one problem with HCK and testing my driver. I do not know how(step by step) I should prepare topology for NDistTest which require 2 machine. Could anyone help me ? I have to create  back to back connection which is shown on msdn page, but I do not see device under test in this topology.

    Thank you and Best regards,

    PG

  • Hi,

I didn't get you what exactly you are testing (DUT).. anyway if you want run the NDISTests do the following.

    1. The Server,Client and Support machines should be connect the Switch ie Back-channel Switch(These should be the same network).

    2. The support and Client machines connect the back to back.

    3. Before that connect your DUT to the client machine.

    4. And install the DTM Client on the both Support and Client devices.

  • Hi Yesubabu,

Thanks for quick response but I saw this link before. There is not any "device under test" on this description. I have got usb device with one USB port (Enhanced Emulation Module) and I do not know How I should prepare back-to-back connection, or where I could plug second wire with that. Also this description do not tell me How I should configure device (support, client, HCK serwer).

But thank you for your attention, If you will have any idea or sheets please write on this post.

    Best regards,

  • I dont know how you will connect two ethernet to one system

All system has only one ethernet port

I think you need a support device also for the test

  • Hi,

All systems have only one Ethernet port right but we can connect more if you have the following either one:

    1. Add-on Card (NIC PCI-E Interface).

    2. USB Connector

Asper the above set up Client and support machine can communicate with each other?

  • Hi,

You can use any one of the above mentioned devices as the support device

(My suggestion is use NIC Card Interface device other wise your wish no problem).

  • But where (or how) We should plug DUT ? It does not matters where DUT is plugged ? I mean it should only be connect with client (for example by USB port or ethernet like in the picture below)
