KMDF Driver Development on Win 10 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I was taking a look at the new KMDF framework on Win 10 using WDK for Win 10. I am not able to install my simple KMDF driver(64 bit on Win 10) using DeviceConsole tool. The file says there was error getting the driver into the driver store. I have a couple of questions in this connection:

    1. Is there a WDF Co-installer in new KMDF 1.15 like it used to be in the previous version? This is not seen in the package folder after bulifing the driver?

    2. The WdfCoInstaller in Program Files (x86)\Windows Kits\10\Redist\wdf\x64 seem the previous ones. Whats the new name of co installer for v1.15?

    3. Is the DeviceConsole utility the same as before?
    4. Is the case with test signing the same as before? Is test signing still manadatory?

  • there are no new coinstallers for KMDF, there hasn't been one in the wdk starting with win8.1 (perhaps win8). devcon is the same as before, test signing works the same as before. you have a signing issue.
