What to study for this? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi everyone,
I have a program that will be working on three different computers, the program has an Access database associated with it. What I want is to have a single database, I mean when there is a change to the database in one computer, when the other computers use the program they will see those changes made by that computer. Since this is a huge subject, I am asking what I should learn? What topic should I study to get an idea about this implementation? Are there any good sources or articles about this?

    Thanks.

  • The best solution would be to use a sql-db and access it over tcp. I'm not that familiar with the access database. Maybe the db-driver also offers access over tcp, but I don't know. For the sql-solution you may use the free Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition. It's really easy to use (in my oppinion easier than an access database).
